Tremont Floral Supplies has always
been a family-owned and operated business. Bobby Canup started the
company in 1965, selling flowers from a chicken house. By 1975, the
business had expanded so rapidly that Bobby built a new warehouse
facility for Tremont Floral. It was at this time that his wife, Nancy,
joined him full-time in managing the business. Today, Bobby oversees
sales and the firm's more than 100 employees. Until her death in
February, 2003, Nancy coordinated
the international business transactions, finances, general accounting,
and payroll. The Canup sons, B.J. and Dow, both help manage the family
business. B.J. is President of Tremont Floral, while Dow is aCPA and
operates a different division within the company. Everyone in the family is a graduate of
Ole Miss, including April, their daughter. She has a degree in
accounting and has pursued a career in banking. There are six Canup grandchildren; Chelsea, Rachel, Ethan, Eli,
Fletcher, and Nan.
Bobby attributes all his success in
life to the Lord, and also gives a lot of credit to his honest,
hard-working employees. The feeling must be mutual, because in 1990,
Bobby was chosen to receive the Best Boss Award in Itawamba County.
Tremont Floral is both a great place to work and a great place to shop.
We are dedicated to our customers, and hope to continue to enjoy many
more years of mutual prosperity with them!
